Hosted at Oliver Ames High School in North Easton, MA, the Shovel Town Throw Down brings together wrestlers of all ages and experience levels for two days of competition, community and cause.The nickname “Shovel Town” honors the town’s industrial heritage. In 1803, the Ames Shovel and Tool Company was founded here, and the company’s shovels helped shape the nation’s infrastructure.

Our Mission

This tournament is more than just mats and medals. Hosted by Oliver Ames Wrestling and supporting Beat The Streets New England (BTSNE), the event:

Provides competitive opportunities for wrestlers for U8-U15 Boys and Girls and the new Girls High School Division on Monday
Offers dedicated Novice Divisions to give newer wrestlers an appropriate competitive experience
Provides dedicated girls’ divisions at the U12 and U15 levels

Features officials trained through the BTSNE Officials Training Program, providing opportunities for the next generation of wrestling officialsSupports Beat The Streets New England and its mission to Give Kids a Fighting Chance!

Weigh-Ins: 8:00 AM–9:00 AM
Wrestling Begins: 9:30 AM

The morning session will compete across 12 wrestling surfaces.

Weigh-Ins: 11:00 AM–11:30 AM

The High School Girls Tournament will compete across 4 full mats.

What You’ll Receive

Certified officials, KAP Wrestling Tournament Operations, and sanctioning by USA Wrestling — providing an organized, professional tournament experience

Top-three finishers in each division will receive a custom Shovel Town Throw Down medal

USA Wrestling Card numbers are required for registration. If you don't have one yet, contact your head coach or email brett@btsne.org for assistance.

No walk-ins will be accepted.

Spectator Admission: $10
