Hosted By: Beat The Streets New England
At: Bears Regional Training Center
Pizzitola Sports Center, Brown University, Providence, RI
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
RIWA and Beat The Streets New England are working together to offer a FREE training session for Officials and Coaches. Hosted at the Bears Regional Training Center this event is geared to not only introduce Freestyle Wrestling but to help plan your season and train your athletes for the highest levels!
Officials:
Led by USAW Officials Development Manager Stacey Davis and USAW MA Education Director Collin Pacelli, officials will learn the basics of scoring, positioning and procedure for Freestyle Wrestling.
Joining this training session opens you up to a new series of tournaments and events where as an official you can be paid throughout the spring going into the Summer. RIWA, Massachusetts Wrestling Association and BTSNE have large events throughout the Spring and Summer that need trained Freestyle Officials.
Coaches:
Led by Bears RTC Coach Josh Shields you'll learn basic techniques, practice plans, and even more importantly some basic drills and skills to add to your Freestyle Practices.
This session is matched by a tournament the following day for your athletes where you'll be given time before the tournament starts to test out your new skills and drills before they wrestle. The session is meant to introduce coaches to freestyle and encourage participation in the regional tournaments coming up in this style.
